Integrated Systems Europe 2014 - Laser Projectors

Another interesting development with respect to projectors. Panasonic showed a projector with a rich-colour and deep contrast laser engine providing 6000 lumens. It has 20.000 hours of maintenance free operation even when running 24/7. The projection in landscape or portrait could be changed on the fly while projecting. This development could also lead to projectors that could be used for diagnostic imaging.

Writing on the wall...

Researchers from microsoft and the Carnegie mellon University presented a prototype called the Omnitouch. This device, mounted on the shoulder of the user, allows the user to display a keypad on any surface in front of him or her. So tables, walls and even ga hand can be used for interaction both typing and swiping. They still have to make it smaller but it looks promising to deliver easy to use and versatile keypads. As demonstrated in youtube movies it even supports multi-touch.
